Caregiver SupportLMHPCO is currently participating in a research project to provide FREE online support group for caregivers of cancer patients. If you are caring for a loved one with cancer, enrolled into a hospice program, or know someone caring for a hospice patient diagnosed with cancer, we invite you to click on the link below to learn more about this new resource (available February 1 thru August 1, 2023). Caregivers are an extension of the healthcare workforce. Many patients have family caregivers who work 24/7. Studies show that family caregivers provide at least 70%-80% of the physical home care. With this workload often comes a need for caregiver support. Support Groups can help create a safe environment where participants can explore their thoughts and feelings and learn coping skills. Support group times, topics and locations vary. To locate a hospice grief support group in your area, go to “find a hospice” button on this website and enter your zip code. Our database will provide you with a list of hospice agencies that service your community. You can contact them directly and ask to speak to the volunteer/bereavement coordinator for that agency. You can also call 1-888-546-1500 and we’ll be happy to put you in touch with a hospice nearest you. There are many other types of support groups that are beneficial to the caregiver.
