For a quarter of a century, the Louisiana Mississippi Hospice and Palliative Care Organization has served as the unifying voice for providers and recipients of hospice and palliative care in our region, a remarkable milestone we are proud to acknowledge at the 2026 Annual Conference.

The LMHPCO Education Committee is currently seeking proposals from a wide variety of professionals to be presented at 2026 Annual Leadership Conference, July 28-30.2026 at Loews New Orleans Hotel, 300 Poydras Street, New Orleans, LA. This is a great opportunity to share your unique talents and expertise vital to the professional growth of all Hospice and Palliative care providers across the region; perfect opportunity to provide insights on lessons learned over the past 25 years of LMHPCO's existence.

Topics may include social work, Palliative care, alternative care and therapies, culture, ethics, Artificial Intelligence, deprescribing, 

The goal of this Conference is to support practitioners with tools to identify, work thorough, work with the impact of hospice and palliative care, both through a professional and personal lens.

TYPES OF PRESENTATIONS:
The LMHPCO Education Committee is seeking proposals in the following categories:
Concurrent Sessions:
60-minute Presentations provide brief overviews, suggest new ideas or strategies for further exploration or highlight successful programming that can be replicated. Allows time for questions/ answers.

Keynote Presentations demonstrate in-depth exploration and application of a topic. The presenter should be able to teach and present a topic to multiple levels of attendees simultaneously and answer any questions that there may be during the session.  

SUBMISSIONS OF TOPICS:
In order to allow an independent evaluation of the relevance and potential effectiveness of the presentation, and to afford the LMHPCO Education Committee the opportunity to apply for continuing education credit for professional disciplines, submissions must include the following:
● Presenter Profile
● Presenter Directed Activity Content Outline
● Brief Abstract listing Description of Presentation (this will appear in the conference brochure)
● Type of Session
● Instructional Level
● Equipment Request
● Signed Agreement
● Conflict of Interest/Disclosure Statement

CONFERENCE SCHEDULE:
To achieve a balanced conference program, LMHPCO will determine the days and times that sessions are
scheduled.


IMPORTANT!
Submission of a proposal implies your availability to present on any day of the conference. LMHPCO is
unable to guarantee specific presentation days.

FACULTY HONORARIA:
The goal of the conference is to continually advance the skills and expertise of hospice and palliative care professionals as we share our knowledge and learn from one another. LMHPCO provides qualified presenters with a forum for presenting their ideas and recommendations for improving the continuum of care. We are grateful and honored to have presenters step forward to share their knowledge at our educational events, providing a valuable contribution to the continuum of care.  Equally, being chosen as an educator for our conference is a privilege and as such, there is no honorarium or reimbursement of expenses to those selected to present a concurrent session.

Presenters are required to pay the registration fee if attending the full conference and claim educational credit.



This call for proposals allows us to reach this goal by encouraging members and non-member experts to share their knowledge of over various topics relating to all aspects of hospice and palliative care without increasing the cost of the conference to attendees. 

Deadline for Submission:
All proposals are to be submitted on-line. Only complete proposals will be accepted.
Deadline for submission is March 9, 2026.
